Kent State grapplers ran away with another one, blasting Buffalo 31-6 Sunday afternoon at the M.A.C. Center. Showing signs of a well-conditioned team, the Golden Flashes claimed a pair of victories in overtime and two third-period pins.
Kent State (12-3, 1-0 MAC) continues its mission toward a second straight Mid-American Conference regular season title Sunday (Feb. 7) hosting Buffalo at the M.A.C. Center. The 17th-ranked Golden Flashes have won 19 of their last 22 duals, including their last seven against conference opponents.
Kent State's Feb. 21 dual meet against Central Michigan will air live on SportsTime Ohio from the M.A.C. Center at 2 p.m. Featuring two of the region's top programs, the rivalry has determined the Mid-American Conference regular season champion in each of the previous four years.
Senior Obie Simpson (165) jump-started a seven-match, 29-point Kent State rally in a 29-9 road victory over Northern Illinois Friday night at the Convocation Center. The Huskies won the first three matches of the night, before Simpson (15-12) pinned John Oden in the first period.
