2009 Sophomore Season

Appeared on the mound 18 times for KSU, starting one game…recorded 28 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched…appeared twice in the NCAA Tournament…recorded his only save of the season in the victory against Duquesne (3/18) where he pitched one inning and had two strikeouts…tallied his only win on the season against Wright State (3/6) with 1.2 innings pitched…in summer action, made a team-high 16 appearances with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod League…went 2-1 with a 1.23 ERA, giving up only three earned runs in 22 innings of work.


2008 Freshman Season

Started 44 of 47 games played...also came out of the bullpen on four occasions to toss four innings...had eight multi-hit games...scored four runs and had two RBI in a perfect 4-for-4 day vs. Malone (3/25)...drove in three runs off of two hits at Akron (4/16)...hit his first homerun at Akron (5/9)…during the summer, he was a member of Johnston Realty (AAABA League) squad that finished fourth in the Nation Tournament in Johnstown, PA...posted a .318 batting average, 30 RBIs, four home runs and 10 doubles.


High School

Lettered three times for coach Jon Szynal and the Golden Tigers... was first team all-region and all-state as a senior... hit .426 with four home runs and nine doubles as a senior, hitting .409 with 15 homers for his career... was a member of AAABA team which lost in fourth round of the National Tournament... also lettered twice in football for the Tigers.


Personal

Born Jan. 3 1989... son of Steven and Janice... is the middle of three brothers, Joshua, 23 and Jacob, 15... lists earning a Division I scholarship as his greatest achievement... enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time... is undecided on a major at Kent State, but enrolled here because he liked the coaching staff and facilities.
