CLEVELAND - Senior outside hitter Arjola Prenga (Tirana, Albania) was named Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week after winning Most Valuable Player honors of the 2009 Kent State/Mizuno Open this past weekend. Kent State won all three matches off the tournament, defeating Robert Morris 3-0 and Utah State 3-2 on Friday and Butler 3-2 on Saturday.
Prenga has appeared in three tournaments in her collegiate career, earning all-tournament honors in each.

In the Open's finale Saturday against Butler (who defeated KSU in straight sets earlier this season), Prenga recorded the first 20-20 game of her collegiate career with 20 kills and 21 digs. The 21 digs were also a career-match high. For the season, Prenga easily leads the conference and is top-10 in the nation with 4.85 kills per game (4.85). The mark is also half a kill more than the rest of the conference. She is also in the top-10 in digs per set with 3.85.
