Lizarribar Captures Kent State Athlete of the Week Honors

Junior women’s cross country runner Alexandra Lizarribar (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde) earned Kent State Athlete of the Week honors after her successful first collegiate meet. Competing at one of the most prestigious cross country meets in the nation, the Iona Meet of Champions, the Kent State women finished fourth of 21 teams.
Lizarribar broke up the Harvard Crimson’s monopoly of top runners with a second-place finish in 22:52.10. Sophomore Audrey Maheu, who finished second two weeks ago at the Akron Invitational, finished 20th in a time of 23:49.52 seconds.
The Kent State cross country teams return to action Saturday (Sept. 26) when they travel to Athens to take part in the Ohio Invitational.
