CLEVELAND - Senior setter Jenny Keck (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) was named the Mid-American Conference East Offensive Player of the Week on Monday (Oct. 5). It is the second such honor for the Golden Flashes this season and the first for Keck in her volleyball career.

On the Weekend in two matches, Keck recorded 88 of the teams 99 assists. Against Buffalo on Friday, she tallied a season-high 47 assists to go along with five blocks. She followed that up on Saturday with 41 assists and four blocks with a season-high nine digs against Akron.

Another weapon for Keck this weekend in Kent State's 3-1 win over the rival Akron was her serve. With the match tied at one set apiece and 7-7 in the third, Kent State scored five-straight points on Keck's serve. She effectively was able to rotate short and long overhand serves over the net to keep the Akron passers on their heels. She put the exclamation point on the run with an ace.

Kent State returns to action this weekend when the kick off a four-game home stand against Miami on Friday and Bowling Green on Saturday. First serve for both matches is set for 7 p.m.
