KENT, Ohio — Kent State’s Centennial Homecoming weekend promises to be a fun-filled and exciting weekend of athletic and special events, beginning Thursday evening at the Water Street Tavern and running through Sunday’s soccer game against Western Michigan.

Thursday, Oct. 8• 6-8:00 p.m. — A two-hour edition of the Inside Kent State Sports show, live from the Water Street Tavern. Tavern Special guests Joshua Cribbs and Abram Elam will be on hand to sign autographs.
Friday, Oct. 9• 4:00 p.m. Kent State vs. Northern Illinois (soccer) at KSU Soccer Field
• 7:00 p.m. Kent State vs. Miami (volleyball) at M.A.C. Center
Saturday, Oct. 10• 10-11:30 a.m. — Homecoming Parade. Kent State Director of Athletics Laing Kennedy will serve as the Grand Marshall of the parade, which steps off on Midway Avenue and runs west on Main Street before ending at Franklin Avenue.
• 11:00 a.m. Kent State Alumni Softball Game at Diamond at Dix
• 1-3:30 p.m. Flash Fan Zone in Tailgate Alley at Dix Stadium. Hosted by Varsity “K”, Blue and Gold and the Kent State Alumni Association.
• 3:30 p.m. Kent State vs. Bowling Green at Dix Stadium. In-game activities include:
• Announcement of the 2010 Varsity “K” Hall of Fame class
• Recognition of the 1954 Refrigerator Bowl team
• Introduction of the Homecoming Court and the announcement of the king & queen
• Varsity “K” Person(s) of the Year announced
• 7:00 p.m. Kent State vs. Bowling Green (volleyball) at M.A.C. Center
Sunday, Oct. 11• 1:00 p.m. Kent State vs. Western Michigan (soccer) at KSU Soccer Field
