Terry Earns Academic Honors

KENT, Ohio - Kent State sophomore running back Jacquise Terry was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV First Team on Thursday. The sophomore aeronautics major carries a 3.81 cumulative grade point average and will appear on the Academic All-America ballot.

Terry has played in six games at running back this season after starting the year as a wide receiver. In those six games he is averaging 95.3 yards per contest with four touchdowns. Terry has tallied a trio of 100-yard rushing efforts and is averaging 4.9 yards per carry on the year.

The Phenix City, Ala., native has also become a threat catching passes out of the backfield with seven grabs for 120 receiving yards in his last two games. He has made 12 catches on the year for 180 yards giving him a team-leading 752 all-purpose yards on the season.

The Mid-American Conference honored Terry earlier this season for his accomplishments on the field and in the classroom when he was tabbed as the MAC's Male Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Terry and the Golden Flashes will take a three-game winning streak to InfoCision Stadium Saturday (Nov. 7) when Kent State (5-4, 4-1 MAC) and Akron (1-7, 0-4) battle for the Wagon Wheel.
