Sophomore gymnast Marie Case (Erie, Pa.) has been named the Kent State Student-Athlete of the Week.
Case came up big for the Golden Flashes in their 193.650-192.775 road win Friday (Jan. 27) at Ball State, posting a season-high 38.900 in the all-around, which is also the highest score in the Mid-American Conference this season. As the Kent State anchor on the balance beam, Case posted a 9.750 for the evening’s top performance, which was also her second victory on the night. Case also won the floor exercise with a 9.825, giving the sophomore two wins in the final two rotations.
Off next weekend, Kent State returns to action Saturday, Feb. 11 on the road at Central Michigan for a 1 p.m. meet.
