Sara Oczypok, Women's Track & Field
Junior women's track & field thrower Sara Oczypok (Pittsburgh, Pa.) has been named Kent State Student-Athlete of the Week.
Oczypok won the javelin throw at the Northeast Ohio Quad meet held at the University of Akron's Lee Jackson Field this past weekend with a distance of 151-00. It was her third meet victory of the year. She currently ranks 36th in the nation in the javelin.
In all, the Golden Flashes tallied 11 PRs and one Top 10 on the women's side and 13 PRs and one Top 10 mark for the men.
Kent State will be back in action next week with a wide array of invitationals on the docket, including entries into the Mt. SAC Relays and the Beach Invitational in California.
