Four Kent State Teams Capture A Perfect Graduation Success Rate
Women’s Basketball earns 100 percent rating for a sixth
straight year
KENT, Ohio – For the sixth consecutive year
the Kent State women’s basketball team has produced a perfect
100 Graduation Success Rate (GSR). The data was released in
an official announcement by the NCAA office on Tuesday (Oct. 25)
afternoon. The NCAA report includes both the GSR and the
Federal Graduation Rate data for the 2001-04 cohort for all
Division I institutions and is part of the annual NCAA Division I
Academic Performance Program.
The women’s basketball program was one of four teams at Kent
State to compile a perfect 100. The volleyball, men’s
golf and softball teams also received a perfect 100 GSR for the
designated cohort. In addition to the four programs with the
perfect 100 both field hockey (92) and women’s golf (90)
produced a rating of at least 90 percent.
The NCAA developed the Division I Graduation Success Rate in
response to college and university presidents who wanted graduation
data that more accurately reflect the mobility among all college
students today. The rate measures graduation rates at Division I
institutions and includes student-athletes transferring into the
institutions.
