Kent State will host a full day of Halloween fun on Saturday, Oct. 26 at both Dix Stadium and the M.A.C. Center.
The thrills begin at Dix Stadium prior to Kent State's home football game with Buffalo. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m., but fans are invited to attend a "Happy Hour" that includes $1 concessions from 2-3 p.m. along with a Family Fun Zone that features inflatables, the popular video game truck, face painters and balloon artists.
There will be a costume parade at halftime. The most creative costume (as voted on by the fans) will win a Kent State prize pack.
Look for Trick-or-Treating all around Dix Stadium from 2-4 p.m. Fans can look for candy corn stickers on the concourse to locate the candy stops.
Tickets for kids 12 and under who wear a costume are just $7 – an $8 discount.
After the football game, join the Kent State men's and women's basketball teams from 7 to 8 p.m. at the M.A.C. Center for Hoops 'n' Halloween presented by University Oaks.
Admission is free and the first 200 fans will receive mini basketballs.
In addition to the opportunity to meet the Golden Flashes' 2013-14 men's and women's teams, fans can take part in Trick-or-Treating through the haunted tunnel and into the teams' locker rooms.
The winners of a costume contest as judged by Kent State players will judge a slam-dunk contest.
A craft station will be available for trick-or-treaters to decorate their candy bags.
During an open-gym period, fans can shoot free throws and half-court shots, and also participate in skills sessions.
Head coaches Rob Senderoff and Danielle O'Banion will preview their upcoming seasons prior to the slam-dunk contest and a grand finale that will see two lucky fans find the chance to shoot half-court shots to each win $15,000.
