
Ten Golden Flashes Earn Academic All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State's cross country programs saw ten student-athletes earn Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors for the 2015 cross country season, as announced Tuesday, November 24th by the conference office.
The Golden Flashes had six women – Kristen Bergmeyer, Morgan Bing, Brigid Callaghan, Hannah Fleck, Jesse Slingluff, Taylor Wickey - and four men – Mitchell Grose, Grant Onken, Nick Schank, Connor Whelan - named to the lists out of a total of 113 total student-athletes.
Of the 113 athletes, nine combined registered a perfect 4.0-grade point average. On the women's side, Bowling Green led the way with 10 athletes as the men's side saw Miami lead with eight.
Kent State sophomore Morgan Bing, who is majoring in nursing, registered a perfect 4.0-GPA for the Flashes.
The Golden Flashes men's team finished eighth out of nine teams at the Mid-American Conference Championships as the women's team finished in 10th out of 12. The women's squad won the Wagon Wheel Challenge Point over rival Akron (11th/12) at the championships as the Zips' men's side took the point over Kent State.
