The Mid-American Conference revealed its 2015 football schedule Friday, announcing dates for Kent State's eight conference games. During the month of November, the Golden Flashes will play four midweek games slated for ESPN2, ESPNU, CBS Sports Network or ESPN3.
Four non-conference games in September will be followed by four MAC games in both October and November. Each month will be balanced with two home games and two away contests.
The Golden Flashes' MAC opener will come on Kent State's 2015 Homecoming weekend, Saturday, Oct. 3, against East Division rival Miami. The following Saturday, Kent State heads to Toledo for the first time since 2010.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Flashes will make their first program trip to UMass at McGuirk Stadium. The 2015 season is slated as the Minutemen's final year in the MAC.
Two-time MAC East champion Bowling Green comes to Dix Stadium Oct. 24 for the final Saturday matchup.
Kent State then gets 11 days off from competition, before playing two games in six days. The Flashes host Buffalo on Thursday, Nov. 5 and head to Athens to take on Ohio Tuesday, Nov. 10.
Central Michigan comes to Kent, Ohio on Wednesday, Nov. 18, for the Flashes' home finale. The day after Thanksgiving will mark the battle for the Wagon Wheel for the second straight season on Nov. 27 in Akron.
The 19th Marathon MAC Football Championship game will be Friday, Dec. 4 at Ford Field in Detroit on ESPN2.
An updated version of the 2015 MAC football schedule will be released in June with kick times and a television schedule for the first three weeks of the regular season and midweek games during October and November. All other game kick times and television will be announced 12 days prior to the scheduled game.
