Student Success
Scholarships and graduate fellowships help Kent State compete for the best and brightest students while nourishing intellectual, artistic and personal growth. Critical to its mission is fostering an understanding of the strengths and challenges of diversity, which Kent State does by providing opportunities for the open exchange of ideas and experiences among people diverse in national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, religion and veteran status.
Whether through its state-of-the-art Student Recreation and Wellness Center, intramural and club sports, more than 200 student organizations on campus, or student financial aid, Kent State University is committed to student success.
In the past decade, Kent State has built a multi-campus infrastructure for linking students, faculty and staff to global communication and information. Technology is not limited only to computers but includes high-tech tools, from flight simulators to speech pathology equipment. Kent State is committed to remaining on the leading edge, fostering innovation in providing technology to students, and training faculty to use those technologies for teaching.
Examples of this abound. The Goodyear Electronic Classroom and Vaughn Hoover Executive Classrooms at Kent State's College of Business Administration let students and teachers connect with classrooms on the other side of the world. The Financial Engineering Trading Floor simulates trading using real-time financial market information and live data from financial exchanges from around the globe. The Institute for Cyber Information is a collaborative research center created to develop and apply the newest technologies for such emerging industries as electronic publishing and information management.
