Prior to Kent State

• Three-year letterwinner for Tri-Valley High School in Dresden, Ohio under head coach Kevin Yoder, earning First Team All-State and All-District honors as well as Muskingum Valley League Player of the Year laurels. Was an Ohio Mizuno All-Star and competed in the Ohio Eastern District All-Star Game and Team Ohio Heartland Classic. Also played soccer for three years and ran cross country. Earned MVL Academic Player of the Year honors.

• Also competed for Ohio Elite under head coach Chris Valentine.

• Born May 23, 1993 in Zanesville, Ohio.

• Parents are Don and Judy Martin.

• Enjoys collecting baseball cards.

• Lists his parents as the people he admires the most.

• Is creeped out most by spiders.

• Superstition is to carry a baseball in his right pocket during games.

• Would like to visit Hawaii.

• Majoring in sports administration.
