Williams Named MAC East Pitcher of the Week
The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday (Feb. 19) that Kent State right-handed starter Taylor Williams (Camas, Wash.) has been named the first MAC East Pitcher of the Week for the 2013 season.
Williams threw seven innings on Friday (Feb. 15) in his first career start as a Golden Flash. The junior college transfer did not allow a run through 6.1 innings. He finished the day only allowing one hit and one earned run (four unearned) while walking two batters and striking out five. Opposing hitters hit just .042 off of him.
Unfortunately, Kent State could not back their starter for the win. The Flashes lost the game 7-6 in ten innings to UNC Wilmington.
