Terry Named Academic All-District
For the second straight season, Kent State junior running back Jacquise Terry (Phenix City, Ala.) has been named to the ESPN Academic All-District IV First Team. An aeronautics major, Terry carries a 3.66 cumulative grade point average and will appear on the Academic All-America ballot.
Terry leads the Golden Flashes with eight touchdowns this season, including six on the ground. His 6.0 points per game rank third among Mid-American Conference touchdown leaders, while his 59.6 yards rushing per game rank seventh.
Also seeing time as a wideout, Terry has made 18 catches for 208 receiving yards. In back-to-back road games at Toledo (Oct. 16) and Bowling Green (Oct. 23), he surpassed 90 yards rushing and scored three first half touchdowns against the Rockets. This past weekend, he ran for 54 yards on just nine carries against Ball State.
An Academic All-America Second Team selection in 2009, Terry also led the Flashes in rushing last season with 649 yards on 138 carries.
Winners of three of its last four games, Kent State (4-4, 3-2 MAC) hosts Temple (7-2, 4-1) Saturday at 2 p.m. in a key MAC East match-up at Dix Stadium. Call (330) 672-2244 for ticket information.
