Day 11: The Two-Minute Drill
For the first time in a year, Kent State's defense took the field wearing blue jerseys Monday morning after defeating the offense in Saturday's Jersey Scrimmage.
On a warm, but extremely windy day, the Golden Flashes did a lot of live two-minute drill work, where Head Coach Darrell Hazell thought his team looked crisp.
Paving the way for the offense in the two-minute drill will be a line that brings a lot of experience to the 2012 season. Senior left tackle Brian Winters (Hudson, Ohio) has started all 36 games of his career and was an all-conference selection in 2010. Next to Winters at left guard will be classmate Josh Kline (Mason, Ohio), who has also played in 36 games, making 20 starts in the last two seasons.
Senior Kent Cleveland (Atlanta, Ga.) is expected to return to his starting spot at right tackle. He has played in 35 career games, making 21 starts.
Kent State's Spring Game is set for Saturday, April 21. Season tickets are on sale now. Call 330-672-2244. Look for video of Saturday's Jersey Scrimmage later today.
