Day 14: Final Preparations Before Saturday's Spring Game
Kent State players made their final preparations before Saturday’s Spring Game on a warm, but windy Friday evening inside Dix Stadium. Beginning at 2:30 on Saturday, the Golden Flashes will play a pair of 12-minute first half quarters and two 10-minute second half quarters. A full officiating crew will be on-hand to run the game just like a regular season contest.
Wide Receivers Coach Thad Jemison will head up the Blue squad and will have Defensive Coordinator Jon Heacock on his staff. Safeties Coach Jeff Burrow will head the Gold team and his staff will include Offensive Coordinator Brian Rock.
“There’s a quiet confidence,” Head Coach Darrell Hazell said of his team after practice. “Guys are understanding their assignments and their roles.”
Burrow noted that takeaways have increased for the defense this spring. Prior to Friday, the defense had combined for 25 forced turnovers during live play against the offense in the spring.
Admission for tomorrow’s game is free and the game can also be heard live on KentStateSports.com. Pregame with Rob Polinsky begins at 2:15. A free youth football clinic will be held from 1-2 p.m.
