Kent State football players remained in full pads for Tuesday’s practice as the team went through its two-minute drill for the first time.

After practice, linebacker C.J. Malauulu (Oceanside, Calif.) talked about how the defense can improve.  The Golden Flashes return their top two linebackers from 2011 in Malauulu and Luke Batton (Macedonia, Ohio).  Malauulu claimed All-MAC Second Team honors after making 83 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss in his first season at Kent State.  Batton earned All-MAC Third Team honors last season, after leading the defense with 102 tackles.
