Rob Hollomon Named MAC East Special Teams Player of the Week
CLEVELAND – Kent State redshirt freshman Robert Hollomon (Philadelphia, Pa.) was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week after the Golden Flashes held off Central Michigan, 24-21, Friday night.
In his second week as Kent State’s primary kick returner, Hollomon electrified the Golden Flashes return game. He had a pair of returns over 40 yards and averaged 35.7 yards on three kickoffs.
Also a running back, Hollomon has 12 carries for 67 yards and an average of 22.8 yards on 11 returns this season.
Hollomon becomes the second Kent State player to be named East Division Special Teams Player of the Week. Four other Flashes have been named Defensive Player of the Week.
The Golden Flashes will be looking for their third straight win when they take the field Saturday at 2 p.m. against archrival Akron at InfoCision Stadium.
