Spring Semester is Among the Best in Flashes' History
Spring semester grades were reported Thursday, revealing 50 Kent State football players with a grade point average of 3.0 or better. The 50 players are the most since such records were first kept in 1982 and met the goal Head Coach Darrell Hazell set for the team in January.

Day 6: Wollet's Return Lifts Blue to Victory in Kick Scrimmage
On the game’s final play, the gold team’s fake field goal pass attempt skimmed off the fingers of a receiver, giving the blue team a 25-21 victory and a free pass to go directly to the locker room.

Entering his senior season, Goode ranks fourth among Kent State’s career leaders in receptions (136) and receiving yards (1,814). He also ranks sixth in touchdown catches (12).

Kitchen Selected to Play in All-Star Game
Kent State senior nose tackle Ishmaa'ily Kitchen has been selected to play in the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game on Jan. 16. The 330-pound force in the middle of the line helped the Golden Flashes finish 21st in the nation in total defense.

Flashes Sign Standout Junior College Quarterback David Fisher
This past season, Fisher was named National Southern Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year, while competing at Palomar Community College. Fisher completed 184-of-333 passes for 2,539 yards, 27 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. He also ran for 403 yards and seven touchdowns.

Nix Claims Second MAC Player of the Week Honor
Nix matched a career-high of six tackles in Kent State’s 35-3 win over Akron and spent much of his day disrupting the Zips’ backfield. He tallied 1.5 tackles for loss, broke up two passes and nearly blocked a punt, which resulted in a 10-yard kick and led to a Kent State touchdown. Nix helped his defense hold Akron to just 58 yards rushing on 27 attempts.

Following a 27-15 victory over Bowling Green, Kent State returns to Dix Stadium for its second game in seven days when the Golden Flashes host Central Michigan Friday (Nov. 4) on ESPN2. Kent State is one of five teams in the MAC East separated by one game in the loss column with four conference games remaining on its schedule. The Golden Flashes are 6-4 at Dix Stadium since the beginning of the 2010 season. This season, the Flashes have dropped three games by a one possession margin, two of which have come at home.

A dominant first half pushed Kent State past South Alabama 33-25 Saturday at Dix Stadium. Trailing 33-0, the Jaguars made a hard second half charge and took the game down to the last play. However, sophomore safety Luke Wollet made the game’s final tackle at the Kent State 23, shortly after making his second interception of the game.

Flashes Comeback Bid Falls Short to Louisiana
Rain, lightning, turnovers and penalties put a damper on Kent State’s home opener Saturday night as the Golden Flashes fell to Louisiana 20-12 at Dix Stadium. In the first half, the Flashes were plagued by nine penalties for 90 yards and a pair of costly turnovers, creating a 17-7 deficit at the break. The Kent State defense kept the game within reach, but two more second half turnovers kept the offense from picking up any momentum.

Setting aside the rivalry, a group of five members of the Kent State community are making an earlier trip to Alabama to help with relief efforts caused by a devastating tornado that ripped through Tuscaloosa on April 27.
