Kent State Field Hockey Begins Spring Schedule April 2


Golden Flashes will once against compete in the Longstreth Spring League

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State field hockey team has released its 2011 spring schedule.  The Golden Flashes will be a part of the Longstreth Spring League and play six matches over the next three weekends.  In addition Kent State will host its Annual Alumni Weekend on April 30.  

"The spring season is a big time of year for us because it gives our staff and our players an opportunity to evaluate where we are at against outside competition," said Head Coach Kathleen Wiler. "We have been conducting individual workouts and conditioning for the past couple of months so we are excited to get back out on the field and see what things we need to work on this summer."

At Miami April 2
11am: Louisville vs Miami
12:30 pm: Louisville vs Kent State
2pm:  Miami vs Kent State

At Kent State April 9
11am: Kent State vs Ohio State
12:30pm: Central Michigan vs Ohio State
1pm: Central Michigan vs Kent State

At Michigan April 16
9:30am: Central Michigan vs Michigan
11am: Kent State vs Michigan State
12:30pm Central Michigan vs Michigan State
2pm: Michigan vs Kent State
 
Alumni Day April 30


The 2010 campaign was another banner year for the Golden Flashes which won a share of the MAC regular season title for the third consecutive year with a 15-7 overall record and an 8-2 league mark. Kent State won the MAC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Play-in game before falling to No. 9 American, 2-1, in the opening round.
