Gymnastics Preview: Flashes Resume MAC Action Saturday at Central Michigan
The Golden Flashes aim to halt a three-meet slide against the Chips
KENT, Ohio – After a one-week hiatus, the Kent State gymnastics team (2-1, 2-1 MAC) is set to take on Mid-American Conference leader and fellow perennial MAC power Central Michigan Saturday, Feb. 11 at McGuirk Arena at 1 p.m.

This weekend's action builds up to Kent State's annual Flip For The Cure home meet, which will be held Sunday, Feb. 19 at home against Northern Illinois at 1 p.m. For more information, or on how to donate, click here.
SCOUTING THE FLASHES
The Kent State gymnastics team put together a strong effort on the balance beam in the final apparatus of the evening in its dual with Ball State Jan. 27 to post a 193.650-192.775 victory over the Cardinals at Irving Gym.
Starting on the bars, Kent State jumped out to over a one-point lead thanks to a pair of 9.775 marks by seniors Erin Rothrock (Erie, Pa.) and Jaimee Caldwell (Blue Ash, Ohio).
Kent State got wins from Rachel Goldenberg (Doylestown, Pa.) on the vault (9.875), Marie Case (Erie, Pa.) on the floor and Lauren Wozniak (Pittsburg, Pa.) and Case on the beam.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Central Michigan (8-3, 3-0) is currently on a 25-match winning streak against MAC foes. The last conference loss for the Chippewas came at the hands of Kent State during the 2010 campaign. This season, sophomore Brittany Petzold owns the highest score this season in the MAC in the all-around (39.300) and has three of the team's top scores this season.
