Case Tabbed as MAC’s Gymnast of the Week For Second Consecutive Week
Kent State all-around gymnast scored two season-highs in win over Bowling Green
KENT, Ohio – Marie Case, a sophomore on the Kent State gymnastics team, was named the Mid-American Conference's co-gymnast of the week, the league office announced Tuesday (March 13). After earning the award last week, Case's honor is her third of the season and fifth of her career.
Case led the Golden Flashes to the best team score in the MAC this season and its best since the 2009 campaign with her all-around victory in helping Kent State post a 196.400 team score. Case had two season-high scores, leading with her meet-best 9.875 on the balance beam, and then her season-best 9.875 on the floor. It was the fourth consecutive meet that Case broke the 39.000-point mark this season.
Sharing the weekly award was Central Michigan's Kristin Teubner.
Kent State concludes the 2012 regular season Sunday, March 18 when the Golden Flashes host non-conference foe Cornell at 1 p.m.
