No. 22 Gymnastics Defeats No. 24 Central Michigan 196.050-194.900

The Kent State Gymnastics squad took home a victory over No. 24 Central Michigan, their chief rival in-conference, when they extended their lead after a fantastic rotation on the floor exercise that kept them ahead 196.050-194.900.
Junior Marie Case (Erie, Pa.) once again led the way for the Flashes by posting the best all-around performance of the day when her scores totalled 39.025. Case took home first for her team on the floor exercise when she posted a 9.900. She also finished fifth on the uneven bars with a 9.800, eigth on the balance beam with a 9.600, and eigth on the vault 9.725.
Senior Lindsay Runyan (Maineville, Ohio) gave Kent State a split on the uneven bars when she tied for first with Central Michigan's Kylie Fagen when they posted the score of 9.900. Runyan also finished fourth on the balance beam with a 9.775.
Senior Lauren Wozniak (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won the vault when she earned a 9.900 from the judges. In addition to the vault, Wozniak also competed on the balance beam where she finished fourth with a score of 9.775, and in the floor exercise where she finished second on a score of 9.875.
Other strong performances of the night came from senior Rachel Guida (Cumberland, R.I.), freshman Nicolle Eastman (Burton, Mich.), and Katlin Isaacs (Mount Airy, N.C.). Guida received a 9.875 on the uneven bars while Eastman and Isaacs both earned a 9.875 on the floor exercise.
Kent State will return to the floor next weekend when they visit Northern Illinois Saturday, February 23 at 5:00 p.m.
