Kent State head coach Rob Senderoff on Khaliq Spicer:

"Khaliq has a 7-foot-1 wingspan, the highest on the team and the highest we've had in a while. His max jump was 12-foot and 3-inches, which is incredible. He really has a great attitude about work. he is a phenomenal kid. He is raw, but he is incredibly athletic and has very good timing defensively."

"In a perfect world, in a world we are used to being in, I wouldn't play him this year and I'd know eventually down the road he would be great. But he's going to play. We are going to throw him in there and see how does. He competes, he works very hard, he is eager to learn. I love him. I absolutely love him. Love him as a kid. Love his potential as a player."
