Kent State Picked To Finish Third In 2012-13 MAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Poll


Golden Flashes 2012-13 team features seven new faces to the line-up

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State has been selected to finish third in the 2012-13 MAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll. The poll was announced prior to the league's preseason media teleconference and was determined by a 24-member MAC News Media Panel.

The Golden Flashes lost four starters from a team that went 21-12 last season under first year Head Coach Rob Senderoff.  This year the team will feature seven new faces expected to see extended minutes on the floor.  Senior Randal Holt (Cleveland, Ohio) is Kent State's lone returning starter.  Holt averaged 12.7 points per game last season while hitting 73 three-pointers and shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc.  

The young team warms up for the season with a free exhibition on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 pm against Rochester (Mich.).  The regular season officially gets underway on Nov. 9 vs Drexel at 7pm.  For ticket call 330-672-2244.

Season tickets in the lower level have been reduced by as much as $280 when compared to last season's prices.

 

Two Lower Reserve seats are now $500, down from $590 last season. Two Chairback seats in sections B, C, and D are now $1,000, down from $1,030 last season. And two Chairback seats in sections A and E are now $750, down from $1,030 last season.

 

To watch the Golden Flashes from the best seat in the house, Courtside season tickets are available for $1,275 per seat. General Admission season tickets are also available for $150 per seat.

 

A gift to the Kent State athletic department is built in to the prices of all season tickets in the lower level – $1,000 per seat for Courtside, $500 for two seats in Chairback sections B, C and D, $300 for two seats in Chairback sections A and E, and $150 per seat in lower reserve.

 

Along with the reduced prices for 2012-13, Kent State is offering additional benefits for those who purchase men's basketball season tickets in the lower level. 

 

Courtside season-ticket holders will receive season passes for the Flash's Nest Pre-Game Reception held on the second-floor atrium of the M.A.C. Center. They will also receive season access to the new VIP Donor Lounge in the Schoonover Blue and Gold Trophy Room, where one of the Golden Flashes' coaches will provide a five-minute chalk talk before each game.

 

Season-ticket holders with gifts of $500 or more will receive season access to the VIP Donor Lounge and passes to the Flash's Nest Pre-Game Reception for two games of their choice.

 

Any other season-ticket holder in the lower level who has not given a gift of $500 or more will receive one pass to the VIP Donor Lounge for a game of their choice.

 

Any new or upgraded season-ticket holders for the 2012-13 season will receive an equal number of free tickets to the first-round game of the Mid-American Conference Tournament
