KENT, Ohio — Kent State had five players named to the 2012 All-Mid-American Conference men's golf team highlighted by sophomore Corey Conners (Listowel, Ontario) who was selected as the MAC Golfer of the Year. In addition to the All-MAC selections, Kent State Director of Golf/Head Coach Herb Page was tagged as the league's Kermit Blosser Coach of the Year after leading the 18th ranked Golden Flashes to a 40-shot win at the MAC Championship this past weekend.
Joining Conners as an All-MAC First Team honoree were senior Mackenzie Hughes (Dundas, Ontario), junior Kevin Miller (Dover, Ohio) and sophomore Taylor Pendrith (Richmond Hill, Ontario), while sophomore Kyle Kmiecik (Avon, Ohio) was named to the Second Team. The five All-MAC selections equal the 1995 team for the most players named all-league in a single season.

Page has now guided the program to 17 MAC titles in his 34 years as the Golden Flashes have won 16 of the last 21 conference tournaments.
Hughes earns his third straight First Team accolade and his fourth All-MAC nod. The MAC Championship medalist last year, he has posted five top 10 and three top 5 finishes in 12 events while owning a 72.9 scoring average. Miller picks up his second straight First Team award after being named the MAC Freshman of the year in 2009. The junior finished runner-up by two strokes at the MAC Championship this past weekend which gave him his fourth top 10 and seventh top 15 finish in 12 events.
