Kent State Loses 71-47 to Georgia Southern

Atlanta, Ga. – Missed shots and turnovers continue to plague Kent State (0-5) as they end the Georgia State Thanksgiving Tournament with a 71-47 loss to Georgia Southern (1-2).

 

The Flashes committed 25 turnovers and shot 24.6% from the field, including going 0-5 from beyond the arc.  Jamie Hutcheson was the only player for Kent State to score in double-digits; she finished with 10 points.  Tamzin Barroilhet contributed with eight points and nine rebounds.

 

Kent State led by four with 11 minutes to play in the first half but then went cold for six minutes as Georgia Southern went on a 13-0 scoring run.  The Flashes went into the half down 31-22.  The second half started with the teams going back-and-forth on the floor, but the Eagles stepped up to put the game out of reach.

 

MiMi Dubose led the way for the Eagles with 21 points, shooting 5-for-10 from three-point territory.  Sierra Kirkland grabbed nine rebounds.

 

Ashley Evans and Amber Dunlap contributed to the Kent State scoring with eight points each.  Evans led the team with four assists.
