Women’s Golf Adds Canadian Standout Ha for 2011-12
KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's golf program announced today that Jennifer Ha (Calgary, Alberta) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Golden Flashes for the 2011-12 academic year.
Ha recently won the 2010 American Junior Golf Association Tournament at the Centennial Golf Club in Medford, Ore., firing a seven-under 209, which included a five-under 67 during the tournament's second round.
"Jennifer is a very accomplished junior golfer with great potential," said head coach Mike Morrow. "She is a mature golfer who has shown the ability to score low."
Ha is currently ranked 27th by AJGA and 40th by Golfweek Magazine for the 2011 recruiting class.
Ha also won the 2010 Alberta Junior at Carstairs Golf Course in Carstairs, Alberta, which qualified her for the CJGA Junior World Golf Championships. At the Junior Girls America Cup, Ha placed 11th overall with a five-over 221. In 2009, Ha captured second place at Alberta Junior Girls Championship with a nine-over 297.
Kent State recently concluded the fall portion of the 2010-11 season and will resume its schedule Feb. 12-15 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
