KENT, Ohio - The Kent State women's golf team garnered national notariety this week as the Golden Flashes were selected 30th in the annual Preseason Top 30 by Golfweek magazine.

The Golden Flashes, ranked 33rd by Golfweek at the conclusion of the 2009-10 campaign, return all five of their top golfers from last season' squad, which advanced to the program's fourth NCAA Championship last spring. Kent State placed 22nd at the 2010 national tournament.

Kent State begins its 2010-11 season Sept. 25-26 when the team competes in the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State.
