2010 Golf Outing to be Held September 25
The Eighth Annual Kent State University Wrestling Team and Golden Pride Wrestling Club Golf Outing will be held Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Kent State University Golf Course . The event is open to all alumni, family and friends of KSU wrestling. Registration and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and dinner at 5:30. An awards ceremony will proceed dinner.

Centennial Memory #31
In 1986, Kent State wrestler Don Horning earned All-America honors after finishing seventh in the 126-pound weight class. Twenty-three years later, no grappler had managed to duplicate that feat until senior Jermail Porter (285 pounds) and sophomore Nic Bedelyon (125 pounds) brought an end to the drought at the 2009 NCAA Championships in St. Louis.

Mitcheff Named MAC Wrestler of the Year
CLEVELAND - Kent State senior Danny Mitcheff (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria) was named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Year Tuesday, following a vote by the league's head coaches. Mitcheff recently capped off his career by earning All-America status with a sixth place finish at the NCAA Championships in Omaha.

Shuster and Tice Named to Academic All-MAC Team
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Kent State's Mallie Shuster (157) and Ross Tice (165) were both recently named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Wrestling Team. Shuster and Tice helped the Golden Flashes finish 15-4 in dual meets, while excelling in the classroom.

Mitcheff Finishes Sixth at NCAAs; Kilgore Places Seventh
OMAHA, Neb. - Kent State's Dustin Kilgore (184) saved his best performance for last, downing Iowa's Phil Keddy 9-5 in front of thousands of Hawkeye fans Saturday in his seventh place match at the NCAA Championships. Danny Mitcheff (133) dropped a pair of close bouts Saturday, but still came away with a sixth place at the Qwest Center.

Mitcheff and Kilgore Both Earn All-American Status
OMAHA, Neb. - Kent State can add two more names to its list of All-Americans as senior Danny Mitcheff (133) and sophomore Dustin Kilgore (184) each clinched top eight finishes Friday at the NCAA Championships inside the Qwest Center. The Golden Flashes have now produced four different All-Americans (Kilgore, Mitcheff, Nic Bedelyon, Jermail Porter) in two seasons. Mitcheff is still in the running for third place and can finish no lower than sixth, while Kilgore will compete in the seventh place match Saturday.
