Scouting the Flashes:

KSU also hosted Duquesne Aug. 11 for a scrimmage, which featured three 30-minute periods. Duquesne out-scored the Golden Flashes, 2-1.

Scouting the Opponent:
The Redbirds, who will start their season Friday at Akron, played a pair of Indiana squads in preseason play to get ready for the 2010 season. Illinois State lost a 1-0 contest to Valparaiso Aug. 10 before a 5-1 victory against IUPUI Aug. 14. Against IUPUI, Rachel Bostick had two goals while Jessica Carlson added two assists. Last season, Illinois State advanced to the 2009 NCAA tournament, losing in the first round to Florida, 2-0.
