Nowak Named American Volleyball Scouting Report Global Player of the Week
KENT, Ohio -- Kent State freshman Aleksandra Nowak (Damnica, Poland) has been named American Volleyball Scouting Report Global Player of the Week.
Nowak helped lead the Golden Flashes to two key Mid-American Conference East Division victories to close the 2010 regular season last weekend, posting a team-best 11.9 set assists per set. She tallied 36 set assists in Kent State's 3-0 sweep of Bowling Green last Friday (Nov. 12), then followed it up with 47 in the Flashes' 3-1 victory over Miami Saturday (Nov. 13.). Nowak leads the squad with 554 set assists (8.27 set assists per set).
The second season begins Tuesday (Nov. 16) for the Kent State volleyball team, as the ninth-seeded Golden Flashes (13-18, 6-10 MAC) travel to Toledo to face the eighth-seeded Rockets (11-16, 6-10 MAC) in 2010 MAC Tournament first round action. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Savage Arena.
