Golden Flashes travel to Northern Illinois and Western Michigan this weekend looking to put an end to a three-match losing skid.

The Kent State volleyball team begins a five-match road swing this weekend with two Mid-American Conference interdivision matchups, visiting Northern Illinois Friday (Oct. 21) and Western Michigan Saturday (Oct. 22). Match times are slated for 8 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Golden Flashes (8-15, 1-7 MAC) are looking to put an end to a three-match losing skid. Kent State dropped a pair of three setters last weekend against Toledo and Ball State in the squad's only home matches in the month of October. The Flashes are looking for their first victories over both the Huskies and Broncos since 2007.

The Flashes have struggled in three setters in 20011 but have thrived in matches that go the distance. Kent State is 6-2 in five-set matches after sporting a 1-6 mark in 2010. Kent State's last five-set win this season came Oct. 7 at Buffalo.

Kent State's road trip continues next weekend with two MAC East battles, taking on Bowling Green Friday (Oct. 28) and Miami Saturday (Oct. 29).
